Does the Bible forbid going to war?

JW Beliefs
https://youtu.be/E-9zWtm1YZY Is it wrong to join the military? JWs teach that this verse commands us not to go to war. Isa 2:4 They will beat their swords into plowshares  And their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, Nor will they learn war anymore. Christians believe that the above verse talks about the millennium period when Christ will reign on earth. It is talking about the last days as can be seen in the earlier verse of that chapter. Isa 2:2 2  In the final part of the days, The mountain of the house of Jehovah Will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, And it will be raised up above the hills, And to it all the nations will stream. Clearly these…

Does the Bible teach that there is a governing body to rule over believers?

JW Beliefs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9_ctbaMIfQ&t=0s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qnaHd0hImA JWs believe that the early church had a governing body to govern the believers. In Acts 15:1-35, the Bible describes an incident when the apostles were consulted as to whether gentiles could also obtain salvation through Jesus unless they first went through circumcision. Paul and Barnabas then consulted the apostles and elders in Jerusalem and a decision was made that the gentiles did not need to abide by the Mosaic law of circumcision. This decision was then read to the congregations that were affected.  However, this was a special incident that affected the church in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia. It was not the case of a governing body existing to decide on the lives and decisions of all Christians. After the above incident, there was no more mention…

Does the Bible forbid blood transfusion?

JW Beliefs
https://youtu.be/Pie1MSuHsAY Does the Bible forbid blood transfusion? JWs teach that receiving blood transfusion is wrong and the logic goes like this: IV transfusion is the same as eating. The Bible says that we are not to eat blood. Therefore, the Bible teaches that we must not have a blood transfusion. The Bible teaches that we must not eat blood.  Gen 9:4 Only flesh with its life—its blood—you must not eat. Lev 7:26-27 “‘You must not eat any blood in any of your dwelling places, whether that of birds or that of animals. Anyone who eats any blood must be cut off from his people.’” JWs teach that intravenous (IV) blood transfusion is the same as eating because people can receive nutrients from intravenous drips and the medical record records that…

Is it wrong to celebrate birthdays?

JW Beliefs
https://youtu.be/AT-Yd2_73JM Is it wrong to celebrate birthdays? JWs believe that it is wrong to celebrate birthdays because birthdays are referred to twice in the Bible and in both instances they were celebrated by evil men. Gen 40:20-22 Now the third day was Pharʹaoh’s birthday, and he made a feast for all his servants, and he brought out both the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his servants. And he returned the chief cupbearer to his post of cupbearer, and he continued to hand the cup to Pharʹaoh. But he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had interpreted to them. Matt 14:6-10 But when Herod’s birthday was being celebrated, the daughter of He·roʹdi·as danced for the occasion and pleased Herod so much  that he promised with…

Jehovah Witnesses’ false prophecies

JW Beliefs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lma9la6ca0 False prophecies of Jehovah Witnesses Deut 18:20-22 “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.  However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?”  When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’ The Bible says that if anyone prophesied about something in the name of God and that thing was not fulfilled, he should be considered a false prophet and should not be listened to. Since JWs have made…
